I read that circumsion also reduces the chances of transmitting hiv. Does this mean that it reduces the chance of spreading it or recieving it through the penis? Thank you!

Contraction due to intercourse is lessened if you are circumcised; those who are not have a greater risk. Even with this said the only way to stay safe is to wear protection every time you have insertive anal or vaginal sex.

hi
regards from india
Circumcision is thought to help protect against HIV because cells under the foreskin are vulnerable to the virus, When the foreskin is removed, the skin on the head of the penis becomes less sensitive and so less likely to bleed, thereby reducing the risk of infection, however these are mere conclusions derived out of a study.
I would urge you to engage in protected sex.
goodluck
