Is this a sign of seroconvertion? PLEASE REPLY
      #166874 - 12/13/05 01:12 AM

Exactly a month ago I barebacked a guy, and I am uncut, so my chaces are bigger that if i was cut, plus my foreskin was kind of irritated from a previous encounter, not bleeding or anything but just kinda irritated.

today I had the chance to speak to the guy and we kinda discussed this, he claims he tested negative in july, but he has been barebacked 3 times before, and he has started messing with men 2 years ago.

I kinda sneaked around his house, and I didn't find any hiv medications or anything that might indicate he is HIV+, however u never know, july was 5 months ago, a lot might have happened in the 4 months that went by until I barebacked him, so yeah I am still freaking out, but with less panic attacks, because boy If it has been pure panic and anxiety attacks for me.

the thing is this, sometimes I get this really hot sensation on my face, it is as if I was gonna get a fever, but I take my temperature and it reads normal 37.5 celucius which is normal range, but still my face gets so hot, I can feel it, and I get scared and dizzy, then 5 minutes later the hot sensation is gone, and my forehead and face in general gets back to normal.

I have not had any diarreah, vomit, night sweats, headaches, rashes or anything, I had some little dots on my arm I noticed while taking a shower, and then dissapeared like 4 minutes later, and that was 2 days ago.

do u think those hot sensations are anxiety? or could it be seroconversion?

even though bareback sex is the highest in risk, there still changces that he may not be poz. also you were the inserter, still high risk, but there is a % on your favor. i highly recomed you to get tested, asap. you can not really rely on what he says, the only way to really find out is by taking the test. please let us know your results, we are here for your support.

hi

regards from india

Barebacking does place you at risk, however since you are the insertive partner the risk would be reduced, besides HIV is a hard virus to transmit.

5 months have passed since july, instead of suspecting your status and seeking for symptoms, get tested ASAP! a test now, should give accurate results. I would also suggest you get yourself screened for STD's too.

use condoms in future!

goodluck

stay well

The other posters are correct, high risk, but odds are in your favor...you need to test though....BUT, what they didn't say is that your symptoms sound more like anxiety than HIV (and you can NEVER diagnos HIV by symptoms!) But that flushed feeling in your face is a classic case of anxiety...as are the dizzy spells. Try to relax, get tested and be safe.
Prayers!

thank you guys, I really appreciate your responses, I forgot to tell you that the 9th day after my exposure I got tested for all diseases, and hiv and all came back negative
no gonorrea
no mono
no herpes
no syphilis
hiv negative etc.

but this was only 9 days after being exposed, the doc told me to wait on the hiv until february, but he also says that I was exposed, but that insertive people eventhough they get infected, is not exactly very likely because he hasnt seen that many insertive men get infected, this kinda makes me feel very positive and ready to bear with the 2 months left.
