I had unprotected sex 2 years ago with a sex worker. Now I have oral thrush and shingles. Should I just go right to having CD counts and viral loads done because I know I have it and really don't need the test? Thanx

hi
regards from india
If you had unprotected sex 2 years ago, get tested for HIV ASAP, a normal antibody test should suffice, your results, now would be accurate definitive.
use condoms in future!

Ravi is correct, you do need to test.....and the reason being is that symptoms are no way to diagnose HIV. Many people get thrush and Shingles that are neg, so don't automatically assume the worst (okay...I know it is easy for me to say, and so hard to do!) but go get tested right away...then you can either relax or get treatment.
