If someone with HIV had pneumonia, would they be able to recover with regular antibiotics? Thank you for reading this and please respond.

hi
regards from india
Pneumonia is common is both, HIV negative and HIV positive. irrespective of the status, pneumonia ca nbe treated with antiboitics.Symptoms are not a useful tool to diagnose HIV, a test at 12 weeks is.
Go ahead and test, it is better than speculating your status.
Goodluck

Pneumonia can be harder to control in HIV-positive people, but in any case it's treated with antibiotics. The antibiotics used depend on the type of pneumonia.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Certain types of pneumonia are best treated with certain drugs. So it depends on which pneumonia you're talking about and what you mean by "regular antibiotics." Pneumocystis, for example, is effectively treated with antibiotics. But pneumonia is also very serious and requires specialized care, particularly in someone HIV-positive.
