herpes would not usually appear as a rash, but more so as a blister. you could have an oral outbreak or genital. (one is HSV 1 the other is HSV 2.), but no, neither of them usually go away within one day

I bought new underwear and it was rubbing against the tip of my penis and it was real red and burned so I freaked out and went to the ER and they said it might be herpes but the next day it wasnt ared as much and later on the night it was gone along with it hurting and i had another doctor look at it the next day and he said it could be irritated . I know i have tested positive for the cold sore herpes but would it affect me down there ? and the rash is gone after a day and a half

if you have had oral herpes, then you know what it should look like. When you went to the ER, did you tell them that you had new underwear that may have been irritating it? i think perhaps it was just from the clothing. but to your other question, yes it is possible to get genital herpes if you have had oral herpes. i've been told that you could also get genital herpes if lets say, you or someone you were with has an oral outbreak and "goes down" on you. it could be passed that way. but i doubt it would go away in one day. and it would be a blister (just like what an oral one looks like) and not "rash" looking.

hi

regards from india

Herpes rash usually begins with tingling, burning, or itching at the infection site.

Scattered clusters of tiny, red, blister-like lesions appear on the face, neck, arms, underarms, back, or chest. The blisters are filled with clear fluid, but the tops may scrape off . The rash usually develops 2 to 5 days after exposure to another infected person.

Having said that if you have oral herpes, the region likely to get infected would be around your mouth.

goodluck
