I am wondering if 20-30 ml of wet HIV-infected blood remained in a glass for more than twelve hours, will the blood be still infectious even if it is still wet after that 12 hours??

are you referring to "drinking" the blood???I find it hard to believe first of all that there would be that much blood left in a glass just from someone drinking out of it. BUT NO...HIV IS NOT INFECTIOUS AFTER 12 HRS OF SITTING IN A GLASS!! You need to learn more thru the lessons sections. you cannot get hiv from sharing a glass with someone. I know you are here because you may not know......but is paranoia like this that gets people in an uproar about hiv.

I guess you didn't understand when we answered the last time, even in a glass, when blood is exposed to oxygen the very fragile virus dies almost immediately, even if it were put in a glass and there were copious amounts.

Thanks for your answer but when the blood is in a glass , i am afraid that it is too difficult for the blood to evaporate or to dry up and such large volume of wet blood might still contain infectious HIV after 12 hours

How about we get to the underlying issue.....forget about the fact that you were told the virus would die....did you come in contact with this blood? Is that were the concern is coming from?

hi
regards from india
HIV is a fragile virus, it dies within seconds when exposed to the environment, basically to make things simpler HIV cannot reproduce itself outside the human body.
goodluck

I just went to a party and drank a glass of beer but after i finished the beer i found some red stain in the glass
I just fear that it was blood and the worst situation was that
a HIV+ man vomited a considerable amount of blood in the glass at the previous night, and the glass was used again without any washing procedure. I am afraid that the blood was mixed with the beer and I carelessly drank it. Was there a chance for me to be infected with HIV in that way
(assuming that the blood stayed in the glass overnight , i.e, more than 12 hours, without being cleaned)
I am thinking of having a test 3 months later, or need I do that?
I am from Hong Kong, China, and sorry for my poor English

Honestly I won't even get too deeply into this. all I will tell you is that NO...there is no way you can be infected like this. You are really stretching to imagine that the red stain is from a pos person vomitting in the glass the night before and that the glass wasn't washed. But, even if that were the case...you would not be at risk Testing is not warranted...but if you continue to have such irrational and unwarranted fears, perhaps counseling would help. You really have no reason to be concerned though.
No one here would give you bad information...if they didn't know, they wouldn't tell you. Trust them...you are fine.

I'm glad you are feeling better. I'll say it once again for your reassurance...you were not at risk...no need to test....you don't have hiv from the red stained glass.
good luck with your new g/f....be SAFE so you don't have to come back here worried again!!!!
