Negative OraQuick test. Can I Whoo-hoo?

Five years ago, I had unprotected vaginal sex with someone I barely knew. It just happened once. And since then, with the 2 other men I've slept with I've used protection.
About 3 months later, I had to have my appendix removed. A year after that, my tonsils. I was worried at the time that they were both related to HIV infection, yet I never got tested.
A month ago, I developed a cough and had a high WBC count. Two antibiotics and 4 weeks later, the cough is still here, along with chest pressure, blurriness in one eye, and fatigue. I've had asthma and allergies since about age 6, and I'm 24 now, so common sense would tell me that's what it is, but I still panicked.
So, after several weeks of sleeplessness and tears and fears I went to my local AIDS outreach center and had the oral OraQuick test done. I was told to swab around my gums (top and bottom) once...I swabbed twice, just to make sure I got what I needed on the wand.
Results...negative!
I've read that negative OraQuick results are considered 100% accurate. Yet, I can't help but wonder if maybe 1. I swabbed too much to get an accurate result, or 2. Maybe I didn't swab enough/right?
The counselor told me that if there was a problem with the test, the position of the line would have told her. But I didn't think to ask her my two questions above.
So, am I ok? Can I whoo-hoo? I still have the damn cough, but hopefully that's just the asthma/allergies. Help?
Thanks!

Awesome!
Thank you, both!
I guess I just needed to hear it from someone other than myself. :-)
Thanks, again.

You are negative.
To answer your question about the Oraquick test itself, there is a built in control line that tells you whether there was enough sample. The person administering the test is supposed to check for that and tell you to re-test if there was a problem. Since you got a result (negative) that didn't happen.
Oraquick has a sensitivity of 99.6% according to published reports and a specificity of 100% (on blood, not oral transudate, but probably similar) This is in essence similar to a standard test
