HIV Transmission and Education >> Am I Infected?

I have just tested negative a few weeks ago but am still worrying that I may have somehow become infected by going swimming.

I suffer with really dry hard skin on my feet and sometimes it has torn and bled a little and I am worried about walking around in the changing room areas and that somehow I could have got it. Do I need another test in 3 months time?

No. You are fine. There was no need for the original test.

regards from india

if you tested 12 weeks post your exposure, you are definitively negative, further testing, fears and anxiety is unwarrented.

As for "really dry hard skin on my feet and sometimes it has torn and bled a little" well if the tiles in the pool are broken, you may get a gash whilst swimming and dont know(it happened with may many-a-times) and dry skin well it is quite normal.

Symptoms should not be used as a tool to diagnose HIV.

If this is your only concerns for exposure, then there is NO NEED to test for hiv. It cannot be transmitted this way. This is not at all a risk for hiv.
