CDC Report
      #164859 - 11/21/05 01:52 PM

Just a quick question if anyone knows the answer, when the CDCs Surveillance reports give percentage of Heterosexual Transmissions does this include heterosexual Anal Sex or is that under another catagory because wouldn't anal sex regaurdless of Heterosexual or Homosexual have the same risk? Could some of the Heterosexual Transmissions be from Anal Sex?

My understanding of the CDC classification for heterosexual transmission does not make distinction about the sex acts performed. In fact, people can even lie about their exposure category.

The bottom line to avoid HIV infection is to not share needles, and use condoms for oral/anal/vaginal sex or stay at home by oneself.

Good luck.

Any report published by CDC includes every spectrum for that particular report, heterosexual transmission in this case.

i would advice you to use condoms for any sexual encounter.

when it is reported as heterosexual OR homosexual, it does not matter HOW they have had sex. Otherwise it would be reported as "anal sex/vaginal sex/or oral sex". NOT your sexual preference.
