Negative at three weeks is certainly encouraging, but the majority of people seroconvert between four and six weeks. A six week negative is very encouraging.

First, what was your risk?
The average time for people to seroconvert is +/- 22 days... and the overwhelming number of those who are going to will within 4-6 weeks post exposure to the virus. So a 6 week test would be very encouraging... however, for a conclusive result, most countries adhear to "12 week" testing after a risky incident~ CDC recommends 13 weeks.

it takes all kinds of people to be rude to others that are trying to learn and educate themselves. ignore the rude and insensitive people. i have had to deal with a few myself.... as for 3 weeks.... if your risk exposure was high, i personally would retest at 12 weeks, just because if your body has not produced specific antibodies yet then the oraquick will not pick it up. just from my own experience if you have insurance, i'd have go to your doc and have then actually send out for labs. good luck and let us know how you are doing. daisey

I think Oraquick rapid test maybe a bit slower ( a few days to a week) to detect antibodies than a standard 3rd generation EIA test this early ( 3 weeks) in the seroconversion process.
Any negative test is a good test, but 3 weeks is way too early for an antibody test. To give you an idea of how early, even a PCR test that looks for the virus itself is only considered about 97% accurate at 4 weeks. I think after about 6 weeks, the negative predictive value goes up very high. Relax and get some exercise and try to take your mind off it and take another test in a few weeks and then close it out at 12 weeks.
Good luck.
