Karposis lesion?

I have a purplish spot about one inch in diameter on my inner right thigh. It itched at first, but not now. When I press it down, it does not white out like a bruise, but it does white out a little. It doesn't look like a bruise, bug bite, or jock itch, because it is more elliptical than anything else and surrounded with a thin red outline. It is flat. Am I in the beginning stage of AIDS>

Since you think it is, it must be. There could be nothing else it could be in this whole wide world.
Maybe you should have a doctor check it out if you are concerned. You can not diagnose yourself or be diagnosed over the internet; also you would kind of have to take a HIV test too. HIV can not be diagnosed by anything but a test; there is not any actual sign or symptom that can not be attributed to some other ailments.

You didn't say whether you're HIV-positive. If you've had a positive test and are not on treatment, that could lend a bit of credibility to your fears. If you have not tested and simply suspect you're positive because you have a purple spot, well, that's a little more far-fetched.
But in ANY case, you can't be diagnosed over the Internet. You should have a doctor check it out. Especially if it's been there for a long period of time. It may not be Karposi's, but it may be something else that needs medical attention.

I've had it about a week or maybe more, I think. I take blood thinners, but it is not like a bruise and it does not seem to be disappearing. I haven't been tested or diagnosed HIV, but I submitted blood samples to a diagnostics clinic. I can't see how it could be anything else because its the size of a quarter with no turning lighter in about a week, when I first noticed it, but it may have been there longer. I think I'm more worried about what family, friends, community would feel about me, than death. I'm totally worried about and will hope to see the doctor tomorrow. I just hope I have the courage and mental strength to deal with what the information might be.
