I have a question that may sound stupid...I am an HIV neg female who had sex with my really close friend who has progressed to AIDS. I used a female condom and he used a condom as well. This is the second time this has happened and I have been tested 4 times (all neg) but what I want to know is can a person skip HIV and just go straight to AIDS if the partner has AIDS???? I know this is really stupid but I have always wanted to know the answer to this question

The fact that your partner has AIDS has no bearing on how advanced your own potential infection would be. In other words, you might get the virus, but just because he has AIDS it wouldn't automatically produce AIDS in you. Your infection would still need to incubate untreated for a period of time (probably years) before AIDS appeared.
I'm not sure about the wisdom of using both a condom and a female condom together. I know using two condoms is frowned upon because friction between two layers of latex can cause a rupture. But then, maybe the friction would be less between a condom and a female condom. (Does anyone else know the answer to this question?)
Anyway, you used plenty of protection, and you would have noticed a rupture, so you shouldn't have to worry about infection.

i have used multiples condoms, call it fear, or precaution, but never had feel comfortable with just one. I have never experience any visible rupture. i guess is all depends of what kinda of sex you are practicing.
i have been very scared after it cause everyone says it will lead to breakage, but ican say i have never seen one brake during sex. i may have brake some trying to put then on, but that is as far as i have experience with condom breakage.
i have always tested negative, so far.

Well, it's true that condoms are reliable. They don't break very often. Still, you might ask an AIDS hotline or local counselor about using a condom together with a female condom, and whether that's wise. I'm honestly not sure.

according to avert.org it is said that a male and female condom should not be used together at the same time due to the friction possibly causing either condom to break.
The female condom is also not to be used for anal sex either.

it is never a good idea to use more than one condom at a time. I understand because of the fear, you feel as though you want "extra" protection, but if even ONE condom was to break during your sexual encounter (regarless of "what kind" of sex) BOTH condoms will break. (not just one). so the extra protection is really not doing you any good. you've been very lucky to not have a break during sex. but always keep in mind, if one of them is to break, they will all break at the same time. so its best just to have the extra condoms in case that one breaks, so you can replace it as soon as it breaks.
love and prayers, debbie

The Reality Female Condom is made of polyurethane. The male should not use a latex condom with it. There are new condoms that are also made of polyurethane. You may use those together.

2nd Chance, DID it say why the female condom couldn't be used for anal sex? That is a very common practice here.

I thnk that its down to the difficulty of it being used in such situation and because of the application can cause rectal bleeding easier.
