I am thinking of getting help for my severe panic and anxiety. I just dont know who I should go and see. I really dont want to disclose why I am having this situation but after looking at facts and taking advise + reading back posts from former worry wells I think that most of my problem is stress related. I just took a 8 week test and it came back neg. My mental health on the other hand keeps deteriorating and im afraid if I wait the additional 4 1/2 weeks without help that I may have some real problems on my hands. Thanks

You could talk to either your doctor or a counselor. Your GP will probably refer you to someone else to treat your anxiety, but that's a good place to begin.
If you'd rather go straight to a counselor and you need a referral, a local HIV clinic may be a good place to start -- they often help people with HIV anxiety. Hope that helps.

I read that Massachusetts Clinics use 6 weeks as their window period. As far as Anxiety goes you are better of deep breathing and taking herbs like Valerium and melotonin (sic?) because a doctor will give you heavy drugs like Prozac.

That's not necessarily true. Contrary to popular belief, doctors don't automatically throw pharmaceuticals at everyone. The doctor may suggest counseling or another form of treatment.

I agree , you should look into alternative treatments for anxiety before seeing a shrink.
