      #159959 - 09/13/05 06:42 PM

Can someone describe what rash looks like and where it will show up. Is it big or small. How long does it last

It's described as a "maculopapular" rash, which essentially means little red bumps, though there's some variation from one person to another. It is symmetrical -- same on one side of the body as the other -- and most commonly appears on the trunk (chest and/or back) though sometimes on the face and/or neck. And remember, having a rash does NOT mean you have HIV. A lot of things cause similar rashes, which are really just a symptom of a viral infection.

I had a rash on my stomach between the bottom of my breasts and the top of my pubes. It itched like hell and the bumps broke open, scabbed over and left. This was all inside of about a week or two. Does this sound like the rash that you are talking about?
