Chest congestion

Any specific feedback on chest congestion? I have had a toally rattling sound when I breathe in, and been coughing up a lot of phlem. Just when I think I'm over it, it reoccurs - this has been going on for 10 days now, accompanied with a rash I've had for a while (and some arm-pit pain). just wondering if anyone has read any facts about the chest congestion (not runny nose) and primary infection.

This is not a classic ARS symptom, the following symptoms are classic HIV primary infection (ARS) symptoms which may also occur individually or in groups. The same pattern of symptoms can occur with less harmful viral conditions (such as Glandular Fever) as well. There are in fact numerous viral conditions which mimic HIV in symptoms and it's also possible that some-one could be HIV+ and not have any symptoms - your only way to know your status for sure, is to do a 3rd generation Elisa test over a three month window.
Seems like you have a secondary bronchitis infection, I had those several years ago when I used to smoke cigarettes and recreational substances - which I no longer do. It comes as no surprise that I no longer get those chest infections.
Your best bet is to see your doctor and get tested for HIV if you think you have some risk factors.
