testing question

I have a doctor appointment this friday, and i want him to screen me for std's by way of a blood test. is the normal blood test effective, or should i ask for a certian one? also, how long does it take to get the results back?

Just ask and be sure that he is including a HIV test, it usually takes a week.

and also be aware, that not all std tests can be screened thru your blood. HIV and syphillis of course by blood, but most other std's you would need to (being a man) do a urine (which is more accurate if they use a type of q-tip....not pleasant) or a woman would need a culture thru a pap.
