I don't think anyone has stats on that. What I've learned is that any kind of sex (protected or not) has some risk to it.
Protected sex is "safer sex" not "risk free sex". Now, don't misunderstand me -- protected sex (when the condom is used properly) is pretty much "bullet-proof", however, you want to make sure the person is using the condom correctly. What does that mean? Well, here are some tips that I've picked up over the years -- I always use my own condoms (purchased by me) -- that way I know they are good. You want to make sure they're not expired or have been damaged by sitting in your wallet/purse for long periods of time -- best to keep them in a cool, dry place. Also, make sure the condom is placed on the penis correctly (not inside out). If possible (and as a method of foreplay), if you're the one being penetrated, YOU put the condom on the penis so that you know it's being used correctly. I check periodically during sex to make sure the condom hasn't slipped off or split apart. Once the act is done, I try to hold the base of the condom to ensure it comes out intact and doesn't slip off inside.
I know ... it all seems a bit extreme and kinda takes the fun out of sex. Take these tips as you will and use the ones that work for you. If you play safe, chances are that you'll stay safe.
