Thrush on bum?

I have been feeling some discomfort this week in my bum area which could be thrush I think. I was wondering whether thrush appearing there might be a sign that I have HIV?

Thanks for the reply. It's not just thrush that I have though, I also have been going to the toilet a lot more to relieve myself both ways, really tired, lost my apetite and am really depressed.
Could the thrush not be a symptom that HIV is in my body? II never get thrush and am worried that this could be down to an encounter I had just under 7 months ago.

Good. I think the only answer is to have a doc look at the problem. It could be any one of a million things, and it's premature to assume it's HIV-related.

This is NOT thrush that you have on your bum. its probably just a rash. It is very hot weather lately, and especially going to the bathroom more often causes a rash. I'm sorry to hear about your issue. If you have put yourself at risk 7 months ago then you should in fact be tested, just to put your mind at ease. But do not assume this rash that you have is thrush. ( i have never seen anyone w/ anal thrush?). Try some gold bond powder for rashes to help ease the discomfort for the night before you go see the doc tomorrow. but this will clear up soon.

Thanks for helping guys. One more thing, could the same be said for the penis as well? Been urinating a lot more lately which seems to have caused a bit of soreness on the end of my penis.

Are you asking if you could have thrush on your penis?? (if you are.....this should NOT be because you are concerned about hiv). there could be some kind of STD going on w/ your penis (you did say you had an exposure 7 mos. ago). but these do not sound like ANY signs of hiv. Keep in mind...it is summer time, genitals are already warm and moist and to add HOT weather on top of SWEAT....it will cause irritation. You are seeing the doc tomorrow, I'm sure it will answer your concerns. its probably nothing. could be a treatable STD, but your symptoms are not that of thrush or hiv.

Went to the docs who checked it out. Said it wasn't that bad and that I should not be worried.
