what are these red dots?

My exposure was protected oral and vaginal intercourse with a massage parlor worker 10 weeks ago. Now I am getting these tiny red dots on my skin from time to time. I have been told they might be from scratching, but I would like more peoples opinions. From what I can gather they usually appear when I scratch through my clothing. They usually go away within a few days after appearing. I don't think it is a rash because they usually start with a bug bite that I scratch. Then the dota appear. Could this possibly be caused from me scratching too hard through my clothing? Does anybody think this might in any way be HIV related? I had a negative ELISA 4 days post exposure and a negative oraquick 6 weeks post exposure.

It doesn't sound right that you would have an "itchy" rash that come and go that is itchy. (and nothing else). what I think, is maybe you should try changing clothing detergent. you may be allergic.
you had protected sex. this is NOT symptom of hiv. I've had the red bumps that itched thru my clothes. and so did my son years ago....seems to be, our bodies dont like TIDE!

Your "exposure" was not an exposure at all if you were protected. Red bumps from scratching could be a zillion things -- an allergy to soap, as debtex said, or just plain irritated skin from scratching.

Also it could be hives because the person dosent know protected sex is just that and is stressing out over nothing.

Have you been sexually active with another woman since then?
Maybe you got a yeast infection.

If the red dots you are describing are the size of a pin head-then it most likely is petechiae. Everybody has them
