Hi do you think it's possible i got HIV from saliva? a small amount (i'd say 10 drops of saliva but it could be less) got on my hair and my shirt and i don't know if it got anywhere else, i have some cuts on my nails from biting them, i don't know if it got there. the saliva had been exposed to air in a hospital for four hours but it wasn't dry yet (saliva/a little sputum) and i'm not sure but i think it was mixed with a bit of saline solution. i don't know if the virus dies after being exposed to air for such long time, even if it doesn't dry completely. thank you for any advice you can give me.

You're fine. Not only is saliva not infectious for HIV, but it didn't get into your bloodstream. That's the only way you can become infected.

Your case is unrelated to HIV, FIRST of all the amount of HIV in saliva is not enough to infect. SECOND, the virus has to come in contact with your blood stream through noticable cuts which are bleeding, or ur anus, vagina, or penis. It's the ONLY way, so please do not worry because u DO NOT have HIV k?
Take care

You have got to be kidding, right? Save our time please. There is NO WAY to get HIV that way. Do me a favor. READ UP!

HIV is fragile and dies rapidly when exposed to air, and on top of that, there are compounds in saliva that are thought to deactivate the virus.

no, not a chance. HIV's not transmitted this way.
