Organ Transplant & Drug Users Window Period
      #157621 - 07/22/05 09:58 AM

Why do people with transplants and drug users have a longer window period? - I'm assuming it is because their body is not strong enough to build antibodies. If stress can do so much to people as everybody says, then why isn't stress in this group?

Does anybody know where I can find some solid documentation proof of studies done with seroconversion times? I spend so much time reading and trying to analyze different peoples opinions etc. I would rather spend the time reseaching different scenerios. I'd like to find out about late seroconversion and why some people take longer to develop the antibodies? I'd like to know if a healthy person going through a divorce and lots of other stressors ever took longer than 3 months

Well, I didn't looked up for the information, but organ transplant patients use immunosuppressive drugs in order to avoid their body to reject the transplanted organs, so the cause of the late seroconversion must be the supressed immune system. As for drug users... I don't know.
