no needle stick injury's do not take longer to seroconvert, nor do they take less time. Truth is, your body will produce HIV antibodies in the very SAME ammount of time. Whether the needle stick is accidental or from IV drug use. One thing i should mention to you, just to ease your mind a bit, is this: HIV lives in the blood. it's in other fluids too, but we are talking about needle sticks. So HIV is in the blood. HIV cannot live without live blood. Blood dies whether in a needle or not when it has been outside of the body for 4 minutes. So the HIV virus dies also after 4 minutes. Just something to know.

spiritzon, you say. .... Blood dies whether in a needle or not!!
if blood is in a needle....it does NOT die right away. There is NO AIR inside of the needle to cause hiv to die. why is it you think so many iv drug users get hiv. Because they grabbed the needle before the 4 minutes. No, its because the BLOOD DOES NOT DIE IN A NEEDLE....THERE IS NO AIR INSIDE THE TIP OF A NEEDLE.
