Tested Negative; Major Symptoms; Comments?

Any comments would be appreciated regarding this. I tested HIV negative in April. My last sexual encounter was in January (13+ weeks). I am just wondering if I should be satisfied with the result or if I should be re-tested. The reason I am asking this is because of my many 'major' symptoms that have persisted from April to now. These include: 1/ blurriness with floaters everyday (cytomegalovirus?); 2/ white stuff in my mouth everyday when I wake up and also along my tongue (thrush?); 3/ loose teeth; sore mouth; 4/ a few red blemishes/spots on chest, cheek, and back; (kaposi sarcoma?) 5/ general fatigue; 6/ loose stool
I have read about all the symptoms of HIV again and again and again and all of the symptoms I have relate to HIV/AIDS. I mostly practiced safe sex (or at least I thought I did). My question is: should I get re-tested? should I trust the results? is there ever a time that lab screws up?
Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated. I am quite worried about all of these symptoms.

where did you get the test done? At a clinic or your doctors office? Wherever it was you should take the result to your doctor and state your concerns. As for your symptoms
1. Blurriness and floaters-Floaters are common in everyone and the blurriness could mean that you need glasses
2. Alot of people have what's called 'coated tongue'. It's not associated with HIV. I have a coated tongue, but that's because I sleep with my mouth open and smoke to many cigarettes;).
3. Teeth could be loose for many reasons/I don't know your age so I am not gonna venture a guess/. The sore mouth you have to be more specific on.. How is it sore?
4. A few red blemishes-that could be so many different things from the heat, acne, skin irriation from clothes.
5. General Fatigue is brought on by many things. I think the biggest thing is the fact that you are so stressed about this that your knocking out your mental energy.
6. Loose stool- That again can be caused by so many things..
and to answer your final question--Should you retest? If that will make you comfortable, but I have a feeling you are not going to trust the result. Go to your doctor and voice your concerns. Should I trust my result? again, you already don't trust the result and you should really bring it up to your doctor. Is there ever a time that lab screw up? The ELISA, from what I understand is a relatively easy test to perform and it is very specific. Where did you get the test done? They usually run the test in batches and if the batch comes back positive they test each on individually.
My suggestion to you is to relax and take the above advice. I wish you well and be sure to calm your fears and don't forget to eat. The most important thing to you is you!

The chances of being positive after testing negative at 4 months is non existant for a relatively healthy person (meaning you dont already have a serious disease you are contending with)

and all of these symptoms of hiv that you are getting WAY too soon within the infection even if you had hiv. thrush, KS, and cmv? these are not signs of early infection? they would come later. I would completely rest assure with your 13 wk diagnosis

HOLY HELL. you read too much. are you a hypochondriac or something ?? Good hell, Kaposi sarcoma doesn't usually infect people anymore unless you EAT ASS or have very advanced AIDS. It was an issue in the early 80's but not so much any more. Loose teeth and sore mouth from smoking or not brushing your teeth correctly. Has it been more than 6 months since you had a teeth cleaning? then its plaque. CYTOMEGALORVIRUS only occures when your immune system is seriously damadged and then in only 20% of people with AIDS. Every human has floaters. If your eyes are blurry, try getting more sleep or seeing an optometrist to make sure you don't require corrective lenses. Trust the lab results. I'm sure you noticed how much you paid for them. In America, you can trust your doctor and you certainly can trust your lab results; & I would trust my doctor and lab results a helluva lot more in Canada. Want to avoid thrust? then completely eliminate STRESS and sugar from your diet. According to your post, it sounds like you LIVE FOR STRESS. That'll kill you alot faster than HIV. You really ought to calm down. Your stress will cause diahhrea and certainly fatigue. Stress will accentuate thrush. Truly, any stess you have will make you sick. Do whatever it takes to reduce stress in your live, even seek professional help. And above all: unless your doctor tells you you have HIV, and you always use PROTECTION, let it go. don't read about symptoms. it'll just terrorize you. try focusing your energies on anything else besides yourself. maybe volunteering your time to help others might allow yourself some space from your fears
