INDETERMINATE TEST RESULT

If anyone one has any information on this please respond. I took an HIV test 2 weeks ago tested positive on the ELISA the confirmatory test was done with a WESTERN BLOT which came back indeterminate with the P24 band showing. My doctor said I need 2 bands in order to test positive, so i am being retested next week. I am not high risk. i had 2 different partners in my lifetime. I am a heterosexual I have never used drugs and have not been sexually active in at least a year. Any comments would help, thank you

I can tell you by experience.
i had a similar test 15 years ago, i want it to die, and tried to drink myself to death. for some reason they could not give me a determinated neg or poz results. i have to change even what i was eating, and check the meds i was taking. after 3 more test everything come back neg. of course for 5 years after i though i was poz, since i did not trust the test anymore.
it was the 5 years i wasted worrying. i di not even want to make long term plans with my lover, it was horrible.
i go the guts to do the test again after 5 years, and once again everything was neg, and still neg until my last test, 6/27/05
so hang in there, do not get to any conclusion yet.

Hang in there budd. This happens from time to time. Do not assume the worst.
I really like the comments from the person who it happened to fifteen years ago (I would take great comfort in that story)
Do you know where your other two people are that you slept with.. Maybe they could get tested too.

i think you need to go to an ice cream store and sit down with your favorite flavor and pig out. What thrill ride do you want to go on? do it. What is fun for you? do that. Go see a movie. Go to the gym and bust your ass on the weights & then treat yourself in the jaccuzzi. You sort of get the idea, here that I'm trying to convey to you, don't you?? Don't worry so much, man. Go have some fun. Preferably physical fun. Forgive yourself of the past. you can't go back: none of us can. Always use protection. Live as healthy a lifestyle as you can. Make changes there. Don't worry about things you can't control. Oh, did you read the part above about HAVING some FUN ? gO to it

As I have heard, and read lot specially here, worrying only make things worst. I know is hard to accept that you have to wait and see, and I know it does not go away at any moment.
I really had ruin so many good times, weekends, years I could I have with any of my BF.
I had even go to counseling about stop the compulsive thinking about the worst, and even though it has get better, still worry.
I did another test last month, since I have been active with many people in the last year. I have always wear condoms, sometimes even double it, and never have done it with out in one night stander the oral, in any way, not even deep kissing, I am the top in all the sexual encounters.
I have discover that inform myself about all the risk, and situation is great, but also I have feel worse, or more worry about my status once I get too much information about it.
To people with similar stories, experiences, and sexual activity, you have to wait and see what’s come ups when you get tested, worry only the day you are going to do it, and if you can do the reliable 20 minutes test, then that will take a week, or a month of wait, then go to your doctor and have the blood one.
It has work for me, took so much pressure, and stress away.
Granted, I have to do it again, but at least I am less stress.
Worrying a little can keep you safe, worrying too much can make you sick, and even feel all symptoms you do not have.
