GMAN, Debtex, everyone please answer.

Hey guys and girls what's up.
I applied for life insurance because of my screw up. I have taken serveral anitbody test last being at 6 1/2 weeks, a PCR and a DNA test. All have come back negative. A medical person for The life insurance company is coming to my office will be drawing blood from me. He will be drawing at 10 weeks post exposure. I am really nervous about this simply because I know in my heart that I am positive, but I have to try stay hopefully and pray for a negative test and the policy is approved.
Has anyone ever been blood tested for life insurance?
The lady on the phone said they were going to check my cholesterol, and check for HIV. Do you know what kind of test that they use? Is it a standard antibody or some other type of testing? I was going to ask the lady, but I didn't want her to get suspicious.
Thanks for the replies

I wouldn't at ALL be concerned (as the last poster wrote) about "letting her infect you" ,
But yes, it is very common to have an hiv test prior to insurance policies, (b-cuz high cholstrl & smokers would make a higher premiu), but I'm not sure,.....they may be able to deny you if you do test hiv+ and also at this point, does it really matter which test she uses. Even if she uses ELISA test or other you would have an accurate result by this time.

I would really try and take is easy, you had a test at 6 1/2 wks, "over" 90% of all people would test + by that time.

After you do the bloodwork with them ask them when will your insurance be covered (of course they will say "after the results"). simply ask them how long should that take. Usually its about 5 days (atleast for my doc it is). but depends on where they are sent (what lab they use) and stuff. It could take up to 2 weeks.

But please again, relax about it, I'm sure you will be fine. I will pray that you can make it thru okay. Remember, we will never be given any more than we can handle.....EVER. Even if it is too hard to handle......"we can definitly handle it"

Take care, and God bless
Debbie
