is fingering risky?
      #15162 - 01/27/01 06:41 PM

Hi, if a man fingers a HIV infected female, what are the chances of infection. Have there been any reported cases of this? I bite my fingernails regurlary, and have from time to time sore areas, or exposed areas around my fingernails. Is this a risk factor that should be looked at? if I were to finger a HIV infected female, could I catch it from my finger?

From what you wrote, it doesn't sound like you had any fresh open cuts. If there is not a direct path to the blood stream then the virus can't get in. Also even if you had a small open cut, the risk is very low.

Who can read all about the risks of fingering someone on Ryan Kull's Q&A's
