Again I find myself being quoted out of context by someone with an anonymous login who has a very simplistic understanding of the world around him. My reference to CD4 counts was simply in relation to the issue of determining likelihood of late sero-conversion.
CD4 & CD8 counts are an indicator of the health of the immune system - obviously you either have a healthy immune system at the time of infection or you don't. If your immune system is healthy it will quickly respond to the prescence of HIV and produce anti-bodies with-in the 3 month window, otherwise anti-bodies will be produced late.
Another point: Acute Retro-viral Syndrome has nothing to do with AIDS which occurs after the immune system has been eroded by un-checked HIV infection, therefore this talk about antibodies appearing years after infection, is infantile nonsense.
