Any expert please advise on this! I have continous shivering at night and during the day whilst I try to hold still, and my left eye keeps on twitching as well as my thumbs and my left leg! What could be the cause of this?

I've also been having uncontrollagle muscle spasms, mostly in the back of my legs, but also in the abdomen and arm muscles as well as shooting nerve pain at the ends of my fingers and on certain locations on my feet and hands. This followed a 3 weeks of flue like symptoms and now accompanies a headache and swollen glands. Had a negative 4 week test and everyone tells me Ive developed the twitching because of reading to much about HIV and my fears. The problem is I didnt find out about neuropathy untill after I started feeling this way. I know it would be extremely odd to have neuropathy within a month of infection but I am having a hard time figuring out what else it could be. I tested for electrolytes, and all the normal things the doc thought could cause muscle spasms and burning sensations but the most disturbing thing is that these sensations take place most when I am at rest not when I am anxious. Any thoughts?

hey, since u "mainly" feel those at rest, then it is definitely anxiety/stress related...your muscles are over-contracted all day from ur anxiety, when u finally relax them, your autonomus nervous sytem tends to "let go" less reliably. i am not an expert, but i think i know enough. my anxiety over potential hiv infection caused me a lot of pain, i had heart related problems, weight loss, fever, (any ARS symptom that makes ur paranoia even worse...like a viscious circle!) hope u feel better...try sports, it surely did good to me.
