Clasic ARS symptoms-need help- going out of mind

Anybody
I had protected vaginal sex with someone of unknown status. Between sessions I put my unprotected penis between her thighs an most likely came in contact with vaginal fluid. I am worried because the big guy was raw from the rubber friction.
Now I have the following symptoms and I am conviced I have hiv
Day 10
Had some testicle pain and a little groin disconfort
Day 16
Came down with the flu (no cold), temp 101 degrees, body aches, loss of appetite, nausea, lasted 1 1/2 days
Day 19
Read about hiv symptoms on the web -went crazy out of my mind, the more I read the surer I have hiv +
Day 26
All symptoms and low grad temp are gone except for my fear!
I have also loss 9 LBs during this time.
Day 28
Tommorow I am getting a HIV 1 Elisa/PCR test
Anybody- are my fears real? are their other things that can cause my symtoms? The timming of getting sick scares me the most.
Please help I am going crazy, this is all I think about.

Don't know about you symptoms they are meaningless. Your exposure is very very low risk. You will test Neg. on all your tests. At 28 days the dna/pcr test will prove I am right.

You would NOT have any ARS symptoms 10 days after this event...or 14 days either. ARS symptoms, if one even has them (many people don't have ANY symptoms) would come on btwn 4-6 weeks after the exposure, last about 10 days, and then disappear...they are not symptoms that would linger on. Your "symptoms" sound like they came on way too early to be related in any way to HIV. Get test for your own peace of mind, but unless you have had other risky exposures, i'm almost certain you'll be negative. good luck (although i don't think you need good luck in this case--you'll be fine)! stop worrying!!!!!

Sounds more like the flu to me...doesnt sound like your risk factor was there for contracting HIV...Test to ease your mind and then remember to practice safe sex all the time...then you wont have to worry about being infected!!!! Makes a whole lot of sense to me now doesn't it????????
Just sounds like you picked up a bug or virus of some sort and got better real fast.....Calm down, get tested and then you can relax.....~Jessie~

Bag ... there's NO way you could have contracted HIV this way - you were wise - you had protected sex. Unless your penis was (sorry for the graphics) shredded to bits and it was rubbing in a large, gaping, bleeding wound in her thighs, then I don't even see a need for testing, aside from your own sanity. As far as HIV is concerned, you have nothing to worry about.

I have to lay off the web! It has been a roller coaster. After reading he post of symptoms from John Hopkins, I am back to scared to death. I know my risk is low, but I did come into contact with her vaganial fluid while I was rubbing my penis between her thighs and next to her vagina. To make matters worse, I contacted her, told her of my concern, and asked her to take a test,she agreed to take a test, but now she is ignoring me. My symptoms and timing are real close to the John Hopkins list and I can't think of anything else it could be. I would like to belive it to be the flu but I had no respitory problems. If anyone has anymore advise please reply.

I had protected sex 3 weeks back and have had identical symptoms. The guy ejaculated while inside me but used a condom and the condom didnt break.
I have swollen glands on my neck, underarms and groin area. I have aches in my legs, constant headache, stomach pain, loss of memory.
I have been tested and will know my result on Wednesday. I do realise it can be too early to diagnose, but I have never been so sure of anything. Hopefully I will be proved wrong.

It sounds like you used pre-cautions, And should be OK

Hi All
To update my roller coaster, I got my results of the HIV PCR test I took at 28 days post exposure, it ended up being negative!!
I want to thank everyone who was kind enough to reply and ease my fear. I was 101% sure I had the virus based on my symptoms, and all of you helped.
I am looking for ways to help find a cure or to help others. If anyone has any good ideas for me please share them with me.
