Elisa antibody test at 3 months is final conclusive. So your 4 month negative is a gold seal you do not have HIV. Get on enjoying your life. No need for 6 month test.

Play safe = stay safe.

I was tested exactly 12 weeks (3 months) after an incident that might have exposed me to HIV. I do not know for certain about the woman but I did not know her and the condom broke. Matter of fact, I tested myself at 9 weeks, 11 weeks and 12 weeks. Each time it was negative. Matter of fact, my Dr. tested me for other STDs to include Hepatitis. The Dr. told me that this is sufficient. Is it? Somebody please answer.

I was tested at Whitman Wqlker clinic at 3 months and they told me it was 95% at 3 months to wait at 6 months for 100%. Now on this board it seems like 3 months is conclusive but for me to feel totaly happy with the out come I tested out at 6 months and I took a HIV-1 and HIV-2 to be sure. The escort I had was a black cuban women that had many black partners from all over the world so to ensure me of total testing I tested out at 6 months (I have hep-c for last 35 years and was told there was minute possibility that antibodies could show up after 3 months so I waited. as for you you are probably fine (99% or more) but for me I needed total closure. Good luck I'm sure you are negative.
