There is PEP treatment available which must be started within 72 hours of exposure. Do you know if the person had HIV or just in a panic? Was it anal or vaginal sex? I am not sure if PEP is indicated in your case, but if taken it is a 30 day regimen and then your testing will be conclusive 13 weeks after the medication is completed.

It was vaginal and I do not know if person had HIV, more of a panic.
