Question
      #133609 - 01/27/05 05:55 AM

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question what is the official window period? And can anybody besides IV drug users and chemo patients not show antibodies before 12/13 weeks? Or is it impossible?

Any opinions

Cheers

Nope, you have to be in pretty bad shape not to show antibodies before then. 90% of people develop them in 4-6 weeks, in fact, some organizations are now saying the window period is 6 weeks. Good luck!

The "official" window period for the US is 3 months.

Only those whom have went through PEP, or have a SEVERELY comprimised immune system need to test beyond this window.

Our own Dr Bob has this to say about a severely comprimised immune system:

"If you have to ask what one is, you don't have one....."
