Hi All,
My exposure was low risk oral sex with a femal from eastern Europe. It only lasted a minute, was very light, and she wasnt menstrating. I had severe night sweats two weeks after, and many continuing symptoms. Currently, I have burning feet, eye floaters, pea sized lump in side of neck that is causing stiffness and pain for the last 4 months. I'm getting mouth sores that look like blood spots every week. I have sore muscles and achy joints. I've tested at 6 months through blood donation and the most recent test at 9.75 months. All test have been negative. I've never had any of these symptoms before so I dont know why they would just appear after my encounter. The women is question has been from what I hear but I dont know her status. Is there any chance in hell that I could still be infected giving my testing history or does it sound like cancer? Most of my symptoms are hiv related - Mouth sores, fatigue, muscle and joint pain. What other test can I take. Please help because I dont know what to do anymore.
Thanks,
Living in hell

The living hell you have been and are now putting yourself through is unwarranted. Cunnilingus is a theoretical risk only.
AND......Your 9 plus month test completely rules out HIV infection.
If your symptoms persist, seek a doctors help.
You are negative.

Hi Jazz,
I was hoping you would answer. A few questions.
1. What makes you so sure I'm negative?
2. Could another STD causes these symptoms?
Thanks,
LIving in hell

1. 24 years of research into HIV testing and infection pathways tells me you are negative.
2. Performing oral on a woman puts you at risk of Herpes.

Hi Jazz,
Could these mouth sores that are like fever blisters be caused by HSV 1? They are on the inside of my cheeks. Also, are you saying you have 24 years of HIV research?
Thanks,

No worries!!!
No chance. You are HIV negative. I am assuming you had an ELISA test done in addition to blood donation. However, blood is screened and you would have been notified had there been a problem.
The symptoms you describe are consistent with one thing for sure - getting older. That stuff happens to everyone. It happened to me too and I am negative so far. The thing is that when you are looking and paying such close attention
The best thing to do is go to your doctor and tell him your fears and what is going on with your body. They will work up your blood accordingly. One thing for sure - You are HIV negative. Trust me, I know it is hard to keep your mind in check. Just as it took us time to convince ourselves that we were infected, it will take us time to work through the fact that everything is fine.
I hope this helped.
