How Can This Be Possible?
      #132539 - 01/04/05 06:06 AM

I truely believe that I have contracted HIV. I had an episode of protected insertive vaginal and oral sex with 2 pro's 3 weeks ago, and now I have very swollen glands in my neck and behind my ears, a dry pesistent cough, diarreah, fatigue, and pain in my groin and underarms. I used condoms that I had purchased so i know they were latex and good quality, they did not break or slip, but I fear that I had a heat rash in my pubic area and some vaginal secretions must have got on that area. I know that I have to test at the three month mark, but I am literally going out of my mind. Anybody have some thoughts or opinions as to what is going on with me??? I am feeling the effects of stress and anxiety or do I have a serious risk?
Thanks for any input

condoms used propertly protect very well, althought symtomps can be caused for other things like the flu normally at the actual time,I will suggest you to take a rapid test 4th generation at 4 weeks that will give you a very good indicator of your status, being negative says that It wasn´t an ars and begin to calm. Good luck don´t forget to post again. Stay well

To become infected the fluid must come into contact with your mucous membranes or your blood. You did the safe thing, the right thing, and used a latex condom. Unless it broke or came off, you are safe. You had protected sex! As for the rash, your rash would have had to be open and bleeding and the fluid would have to be exposed to your blood in an environment were there was zero air. Your risk is non existant. Guilt, anxiety, and stree can cause these exact syptoms. God Bless you, stay safe.
