When a woman becomes infected, can it affect her period? I have missed my period for the last 3 months after possible exposure. I did a EPT test, and it came back negative.
Thanks.

Did you test after 12 weeks from possible exposure? If that test was negative, then it is highly unlikely that your irregular menstrual cycle is related. Also, high periods of stress and anxiety can wreck havoc on your hormones. A hormonal imbalance can cause funky cycles. == PVS

Whatever is going on isn't due to HIV. If you haven't tested go get one to put your mind at ease. Other than that, make an appt with your gyn to find out what could be causing it. Like PVS said, probably hormonal.

The above post was not talking about the ELISA, it was referring to an EPT pregancy test.
