I have read different sources concerning ARS, from textbooks and medical dictionaries, to medical sites on the Internet and thebody.com. Most sources say 2-4 weeks, others say within a month of exposure, still others put the figure at up to 6 weeks. I even read some signs where ARS was reported at 5 days or even as soon as 3 days after exposure. I experienced a sore throat the next day after an incident that almost all would classify as very low risk. Could ARS manifest itself 24 hours later or before 24 hours? Is this possible (if for some reason, someone had a strange immune system)? The sore throat was very mild and I had little difficulty swallowing, it was itchy though. The sore throat lasted, appearing and subsiding and reappearing for the following two weeks, I think. It was 5 days later when some other "symptoms" appeared. Do you think ARS could've shown itself this early?
