1st generation elisa
      #12874 - 11/26/00 08:15 PM

Two weeks ago I tested negative at 16 weeks. I read a lot about 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Elisa tests. I'm from The Netherlands/Europe and I really don't know what type of test is done around here. Is a 16weeks negative test with 1st generation Elisa promissing? Conclusive? I'm a little scared because the last two weeks I feel like I've catch the flu, I'm really tired all day, therefor I've some doubts about my 16weeks negative. Could it be that my body make HIV-antibodies right now? Please help, thanks in advice.

i would have to agree with jackie ,you do need to find out what test it is you took and if possible consult another md ,as far as ars at 16 weeks that doesnt seem of luck

If you were truly infected, even a first generation elisa would've shown at least inderterminate at 16 weeks. Your negative is a pretty good indicator of your status. Good luck! == PVS
