Other STD's - ?

Hi,
I was wondering about the other viral STDs, namely HPV and Herpes. Are there tests for these and are they conclusive? I have not had any signs or symptoms and I think I was tested early after possible exposure for these. However, I do remember the lady at the clinic saying it was possible to have, say, a Herpes outbreak 2 years or so after infection when you previously showed no symptoms.
Is it possible to put your mind to rest about these diseases after testing or is it impossible to know until something bad happens? Everything I read so far is confusing. Can anyone help here? I passed my 12 week HIV test but now I'm wondering if I still have to worry about these others.

For Herpes you can request an Immunoblot IgKit which is a blood test to find out if you have Herpes 1 & 2. And for HPV there is a test from Digene called Capture II.

Thanks PVS. Do you know if there is a 'time frame after exposure' I have to wait similar to HIV or can I get them anytime after possible exposure? Are they considered conclusive?

Thanks. From what I have read, these 2 viruses, herpes and HPV:
1.) Can be diagnosed only when they appear and a culture is taken
2.) Can possibly never 'appear' at all
3.) Can be contagious even when they don't appear..
So, if you've ever had sex at all with someone who has had sex with another person, you can possibly have contracted a dormant virus that can pop up at any time in the future. Worse, you can transmit it to someone you care about and not even know it! Ugh, I think I'm gonna be sick.
Kinda makes a person want to become a monk!

There is no such thing. If don't have any symptoms after infection, how are you going to know? How the doctor know?? They just assume these will happen. Like herpes, most people who is positive ( IgG ) don't even know its existence. Just put all these behind you.
