Four months ago I had anonymous, unprotected anal sex in which I was the "top" guy. I don't know the status of my partner, but he didn't want me to use a condom; chances are he's positive. What kind of risk did I take compared to giving oral sex or bottoming without a condom?

They say there is more risk with being the bottom because of the anal membrane being extremely fragile. But, unprotected anonymous sex is risky by whatever definition. Get a test as soon as you can. Call a community clinic for an anonymous antibody test and please I do recommend pre and post test counselling. Regardless of your results, it is always best to have someone to talk to. Also, no one here has a right to judge you, but please practice safe sex! Good luck. == PVS

The board has spoken...top, insertive sex is more risky than oral sex but less risky than being the receptive partner. In any case, all are risky without proper protection. Testing is going to be the only way that you can move on from this stage of constant worry regardless of the results. Counseling before and after your test, just like PVS said, would be most helpful. Good luck to you and you're in our thoughts.....
