Inability to form antibodies

Would it be safe to say that if a person did not produce antibodies by 3 years after exposure, they would not be able to fight off common infections. Isn't the antibodies what makes the symptoms of ARS resolve? I have some non-specific symptoms that doctors dont know the cause of. At one point I thought I had thrush but it went away by itself. I wonder how a person knows if their immune system cannot produce antibodies?

Give 3 people the same cold virus... all 3 will have different symptoms, severity, and duration. The immune system is complicated.
However, after 3 years, you are clearly not fighting hiv. Only people with immune systems that have been completely wrecked due to radiation/chemo or other radical immunosuppressive therapy would be unable to produce antibodies. I think an immunologist is the right person to speak with for further follow up if you have other questions. Hiv isnt involved here, so this board will probably not help you much.

If you did have HIV, and weren't producing antibodies at this point, 3 years after, you wouldn't be here. And if you were, you would be on your death bed, not being paraniod, looking at the internet all day. In the cases where people, for what ever reason, never produced antibodies, progression to AIDS was within 2 years. Throughout these cases however, it was know they had HIV dispite never showing a positive ELISA or WB. Antibody production does decrease the amount of virus, which starts at the end of AVS, hence you start feeling better, and you also become positiive on ELISA' with this production of antibodies. Do you really think your immune system is that strong. I doubt it. Once again, stay off the internet.

Thank you for your responses. By the way, who told you I was on the Internet all day? Do you know me or something? This is my first time visiting this forum. I had a question and I asked it! Pardon me. You must be a member of the forum police. Take it easy!

No antibodies can be found when the patient is in the latter stages of AIDS or if you have a severely immunosuppressed system because of cancer and other diseases. At this point, if you truly had something you WOULD know. == PVS

How'd you know if your body cant make antibodies to hiv? When youre not infected! The body forms antibodies when it recognizes an illness or even just thinks it does as in autoimmune illnesses. After three years without antibodies, you are definitely not infected,i too had the disaperring "thrush"ie clusters of white spots that could be brushed off,by the time i had an appt it was gone, who knows? Just know unless your white bloodcells was overwhelmed by the virus, you would have developed significant antibodies in three three years.Always be safe and dont swaet the small stuff>T
