I have a question.... Given a person who tests hiv-neg versus another person who has tested hiv-pos in the past and is on drug therapy to the point that his/her hiv levels are described as "undetectable" who is to say that the first person who tests hiv-neg is not indeed hiv-pos simply because his/her immune system is masking the infection or making it undetectable ? In short, can someone describe the true meaning of the second person's "undetectable" status?? If someone's condition is made "undetectable" through drug therapy will they still test hiv-pos on a routine hiv test or will the test hiv-neg because of their "undetectable" condition???? Comments???

You are confusing two differnt types of test. A viral load test RNA/PCR test measures the amount of HIV RNA in the body which can then be trasposed into a viral load count. The Antibody test measures antibodies your body produces to fight the Virus. One can be undetectable with a viral load test but still could show POZ in an antibody test. However if one is NEG on the antibody test [passed the window period] they will be NEG [< 50 copies} on the viral load test.
