HIV1?HIV2?HIV-O?HIV-N?
      #112399 - 10/06/04 10:00 PM

We didn't even know about HIV until the 1980's. So, we invented a HIV1 test, only to find there is a HIV2. So, we invented a HIV2 only to find out there is a HIV-O. Why are we so ignorant to think there couldn't be another strain...for which we should be making another test...it only makes sense. It easy to predict the future by looking at the past. According to Barlett and Gallant (Hopkins) Group N is another recognized strain that "may be positive on WB".....or how about this-->yet another mutuation? What is the harm in us questioning the validity of the tests to ensure they are at their best? What makes us think the tests and the doctors are GOD? Perhaps if we start questioning them, we can make them better! Doctors only become experts when they listen to their patients. So make your doctors listen to you. Its your body. Its your health. And if your doctor doesnt like it. go get another one. There were like 3 new strains of the flu last year, and my annual shot protected me for none of them. Why think HIV mutates any differently?

I am living proof of this (and I know others) My case from, infection, to ARS to mildly symptomatic reads like an HIV text book yet negative. CD4s are dropping so once they fall out of normal range hopefully I can get some better testing from CDC or ? (Syptoms are huge range of skin problems, myalgia with 3 elevated enzyme tests, swollen glands 2 under jaw, one in groin and doc says another under armpit and mild neuropathy) What to do, what to do. Still negative 2 years post exposure, unprotected sex with prostitute in the Philipines, Many variants there! Not very smart.

From what I have been told CDC does not have better tests. my blood has traveled there twice already. we need to get to the scientists, but they need to be enticed by enough cases. start contacting major Rx companies, and major institutes like the Institute of Human Virology or Hopkins or any major research universities in your area. Write your senators and congresspeople (I have already written to all of them, so they will believe what you are saying). My senator forwarded my case to the head of the CDC. These people work for you, not vice versa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
