HIV resistent people

This is a follow up on someone else post. What if there are HIV resistaent people out there. Maybe those symptoms we had was a serosonverion but maybe our body had a little extra oomph and killed it off. You cant tell me the millions of people out there who did have symptoms, that hiv was there and on the attack. And in the end they turned out negative. Just a wild thoght , would like to hear some opinions.

I kinda agree , i believe hiv was made by the government in the 50s , they have found cases of hiv from cadevers from the 50s and 60s, it was working that well or they made it stronger. The american people have to revolt, rome did not last .

I have read posts on here answered by some of the docs in which some folks have had sex with pozed indviduals and had repeated exposure to them and continued to test neg. I have chatted with some men who were pozed and involved with a neg partner had unprotected sex for years and still tested neg. I think Magic Johnson's wife was pregnant with his kid when Magic tested poz. So I guess it is a subject that needs studying.

I agree, I think the government made aids back in the 50s and it was not strong enough, or this is just talk right, porn started in the 70s, God was pissed off gave us time to change, but no change, welcome to the 80s, more porn, yuppies, and aids. I do also bvelieve there are hiv resitent people out there that the government knows that there is.

I would be interested in any links or information regarding this. I actually talked to an infectious disease specialist once who is convinced you must have a certain gene or something in order to even contract the virus. He said at that time there were studies done and he concurs with them. Anyone know?

If you are implying that people could be resistant to the virus forever and never, ever develop any problems....From your lips to God's ears. That would be nice. Unfortunately, I believe there is very little evidence of that, if any at all. So, why try promoting false hope...which in the end can have unfortunate consequences....people assuming they are invincible because of the possibility of being "resistant". Just be careful in what rumors you may begin, people's very lives can be effected.

First of all, this is the "am I infected" board, so I feel this topic is appropriate. This is a forum for people to ask questions, offer opinions and some reassurance. I am curious as to how this would be offensive to someone with the virus or "suffering" as you say.

This index is about infection, its just a question, People with HIV have to understand, LIFE GOES ON. I pray for people wiuth hiv, also cancer, the hungry and homeless.

There was a special on the Discovery channel a couple of years ago regarding infectious dieseases and they found that a certain mutation in a small community in England during the time of the plague were in fact non affected by the diesease which is still a killer and no cure is known. THe tests were also done with the genes of these filks against the HIV virus and found that it didnt affect them as well. The study of course was inconclusive and anyway, hwo would want to take that chance to find out if they are bullet proof?
I also believe that if these folks really do exist, then Oprah would have them on parade. Take care and GOD bless and be safe!
