HIV RNA QUALITATIVE,QUALITATIVE TEST QUESTION

HELLO,I wonder if any of you have information about the hiv RNA qualitative test.The laboratory where i live offer this test.Ihave heard a lot of information about the HIV RNA quantitative Viral load and Hiv Dna qualitative test,but the HIV RNA qualitative test is it almost no information about in THEBODY.COM.Isnt the Hiv Rna qualitative test in use in United states?How senitive is this test compared to Hiv dna test?

The RNA measures viral load, the DNA does as it says looks for the DNA structure of the virus. The RNA is a good testin the window period because the virus is replicating fast. After your antibodies kick in the virus can go down below the level of detection. This is rare though.
The DNA test is very good after about 28 days. It can detect the DNA in as little as two week but is more reliable in about 28/30 days. Of coures your antibodies will be kicking in about that time or in a few more weeks. Both the RNA and DNA have a higher rate of false POZ. but if they are NEG you are more than likly truely NEG.

Hi there!you have misunderstand my question.Mi question is: the laboratory where i live have also an HIV RNA QUALITAIVE test.What is the best test of these 2 QUALITATIVE TEST? HIV RNA QUALITATIVE OR HIV DNA QUALITATIVE?

read my post. It depends on the time frame since exposure. I would go for the RNA early say 2 weeks. At 4wks the DNA is great both are very good test regurdless of what you read.
