Opinions please, im really scared...
      #102101 - 07/21/04 06:35 PM

Hey all,

Here is my story. Earlier this month i made a stupid and thoughtless decision to call up a prostitute. When i got there, my first thought was that this girl was dirty. Yet i still proceeded. She had tattoo's over her body, and looked kinda dazed, like she smoked too much weed. I got naked, she put a condom on my non erect penis and started sucking. Not long after, we got into doggy position where i penetrated her vagina from behind (with the same condom as the oral). Part way into that, i decided to put another condom on. I did, and finished off. The whole incident didn't last for more than say 15-20 minutes.

Obviously, after this i felt guilt all over. I vowed never to do anything like that again. I put everything in jeopordy. The next day, I went to my doctor and got paranoid from these sites about HIV. I actually went and retrieved the condoms i used that night from a garbage bin I dumped them in. I tested them by putting water in them, and it didn't appear to have any leaks.

Can you guys/gals provide any insight into this situation? I am scared that i cannot continue my life with my beautifully loving gf. I now have a totally different outlook on life.

You guys think im safe, given the worst case scenario that she was positive? What is the percentage chance of contracting it as a male from a female with the usage of a condom given that she was +ve. I hear Dr. Bob saying its "non-existent risk" but i still worry. I mean, has anyone contracted it in this manner? Please any insight, opinions, and karma would be appreciated. Thanks.

As long as you were protected while having vaginal or anal sex with this woman you should be ok. There has been questions of if the HIV virus can pass through condoms. If it was Latex, you should be fine. But lambskin condoms don't protect as latex. If you still worry, wait maybe 8 weeks to test and see what happens. A 8 week will be a good indication of your status.12 week or 13 week is considered conclusive. Good luck and stay safe. -Jess

Swet it out!! new
      #102111 - 07/21/04 07:46 PM

Hey sorry to here about your situation. I can relate.. Strange how one bad decision can screw up your life.. My story. I had a one night stand with this bar girl in Asia. Bangkok Thailand.. Now home in the U.K my story sounds like someone elses not mine..But it happend non the less. I had Protected Vaginal Sex with this girl 3 times that night. But now I am sure I have gotton HIV off of her.. I can relat to your comment that the Body says that your exposure was a small risk.. But myself and as it sounds you find this way way hard to believe... I hope that I am wrong and The Body is right on my exposure and also yours...

But the bottom line is that you will have to "Swet it out" and wait the window period and get tested so you will know for sure if you have HIV or not.. For myself it does not matter what the Body says I will not feel well until I have my negative in my hand.. And it sounds like you are the same...

Your risks? Same as mine... For unprotected vaginal sex with person who has HIV is a risk of 0.1 to 0.2 % per sexual act.. So the odds are in your favor that you are probably ok.. But if you are like me this will only help your anxiety for a few min or so.....Get tested so you will know..

In the meantime maybe call the CDC national hotline on STDs and discuss what your exposure was and see what they think your risk is. This might help you alittle bit..

But until then Swet it out in the window period.. 3 months post exposure...I will be pulling for you..And dont kick yourself for sleeping with a pro..it happens at least you were protected and Im sure the odds are way in your favor..

Thanks..T Bone

PS .. Need any more support post me on the forum and I will respond to you...ciao

I just don't see what you are worried about. You used condoms, they didn't break so what's the big deal? Before condoms are sold they are tested for leaks and breakage. Your's didn't do either so stop stressing. Listen to Dr. Bob...not only is he a HIV specialist but he has the disease himself. If you read his bio you'll know that he himself is involved with someone who is hiv negative and they have a great sex life with condoms and all. His partner (who is also a doctor) has remained negative because condoms do work.

Best of luck and stop stressing over nothing.

Like most i worry about being that percentage of contracting it with a condom. That exceptionally small percentage. It has been close to 3 weeks, so far i feel fine physically. My back kinda aches, but thats cause of my bed i think. What symptoms should i watch for? I mean, this situation was somewhat high risk right? How good is a 6-7 week ELISA test, or should i do the DNA test? I heard that is accurate earlier.

Im also worried because the condoms were not supplied by me. And i technically didn't use them properly, as they were put on me while i was not erect. Does that pose as a risk, since it was put on while it was flacid, then became erect before vaginal penetration with condom?
