STAFF – AIDS ACTION

AIDS Action, a national advocacy and public-policy organization, is seeking qualified candidates with demonstrated managerial, administrative, and communication skills for the positions below. Candidates should have working knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS and related health issues.

Deputy Director. Demonstrated professional, managerial, and supervisory experience in a health-related field. Practical experience in nonprofit administration and management. Ability to motivate co-workers and community partners and effectively represent AIDS Action to its constituents.

Director of Public Policy. Demonstrated professional experience in policy analysis of current public health and/or related social justice issues. Able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously and analyze complex policy issues.

Director of Government Affairs. Demonstrated professional experience with policy and legislative advocacy with Congress and the Executive Branch, and with direct involvement in legislative analysis and development and lobbying. Ability to monitor numerous legislative initiatives on a variety of HIV/AIDS-related issues under consideration by Congress and the Executive Branch.

Director of Development. 3+ years experience and proven success in nonprofit fundraising with demonstrated knowledge of constituency building, campaign and special events coordination, marketing, direct mail solicitations and public relations.

Community Organizer. Experience in coordinating and planning outreach and working with a variety of nonprofit or advocacy organizations on joint policy and program initiatives.

Press and Media Relations Coordinator. Able to work well as part of a public affairs team and provide logistical and production support in the area of press and media relations, as required.
