Project Inform is a San Francisco-based national HIV/AIDS organization that serves over 150,000 individuals each year with up-to-the-minute treatment information and advocacy. Project Inform has a National HIV Treatment Hotline, an array of treatment publications and fact sheets, a web site featuring information in both English and Spanish, national outreach and education programs and ongoing advocacy and public policy initiatives.

Project Inform is seeking an Information and Advocacy Associate to research and write treatment information for Project Inform publications and educational materials on anti-HIV treatments, HIV-associated complications and related issues. To work in conjunction with other Information and Advocacy Department staff to develop overall information and advocacy priorities for the organization and to participate in treatment advocacy efforts.

Job responsibilities will include:

* Coordination of the development and production of Project Inform’s written treatment information in specific treatment areas.
* Development and implementation of strategies to improve access to promising therapies and technologies.
* Representation of Project Inform to the press, community groups, and other organizations with regard to Project Inform advocacy positions in the arena of anti-HIV therapies, hepatitis C/HIV co-infection and technologies to diagnose and monitor therapy.

Qualifications:

* Above average knowledge of HIV-disease pathogenesis and treatment
* Excellent written, telephone and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work with others and team build
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and re-prioritize on short notice
* Experience in writing and editing HIV/AIDS treatment information
* Strong verbal presentation skills
* Problem solving skills
* Knowledge of and sensitivity to HIV-affected community issues
* Excellent organization skills
* College degree or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of drug development and drug approval structures and organizations preferred
* Experience in HIV/AIDS treatment activism preferred
* Ability to speak/write in Spanish strongly preferred
