SENIOR PUBLIC POLICY ASSOCIATE (Ref. Code: SPPA-PP)
The Senior Public Policy Associate is responsible for the overall development, coordination and implementation of NMAC's gay men/MSM of color policy and HIV/AIDS stigma initiatives and its impact on communities of color with particular attention to gay men of color, women of color and special sub-populations. Responsibilities include but is not limited to conducting background research on specific HIV research, prevention and care needs of gay men/MSM, develop policy recommendations and an action agenda for federal policy makers. Assist in advocacy training workshops for gay men/MSM of color.

The candidate must have at least four years of progressively responsible experience in conducting behavioral/social sciences and policy related research. An Advanced degree in behavioral/social sciences preferred. Experience in HIV/AIDS and/or health and ethnic and racial minority communities required. Knowledge and experience working on issues related to gay men/MSM of color required. Experience in the legislative process and issue advocacy preferred; demonstrated ability to understand and apply behavioral and social science research findings to policy advocacy and public education. Candidate must possess outstanding written and oral communications skills.
