PREVENTION OUTREACH WORKER JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting Official: Prevention Outreach Services Coordinator or designee
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Prevention Outreach Services Coordinator or designee, the Prevention Outreach Worker is responsible for day-to-day operation of street/community outreach for Play It Safe project services cooperative agreement assigned to the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct street and community outreach activities as assigned by senior staff member in venues identified by community needs assessment, agency, RARE report and personal knowledge (example Bars, Parks, Dance Clubs, Malls, House Parties, Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, Shelters, etc...). 2. Target appropriate age groups, populations, and communities. 3. Oversee timely submission of all data information with timely update to system. 4. Verify work time submitted time sheets and submit to supervisor. 5. Assist with material distribution and safer sex kits assembly. 6. Seek out appropriate training and skill development courses as required or needed. 7. Adhere to agency confidentiality policy, along with those of local, state, and federal mandates. 8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.
