Project Inform is a San Francisco-based national HIV/AIDS organization that serves over 150,000 individuals each year with up-to-the-minute treatment information and advocacy. Project Inform has a National HIV Treatment Hotline, an array of treatment publications and fact sheets, a website featuring information in both English and Spanish, national outreach and education programs, and ongoing advocacy and public policy initiatives.

Project Inform is seeking a Hotline Associate to assist with the administration and coordination of activities of the Project Inform National HIV/AIDS Treatment Hotline in its efforts to collect and disseminate accurate and comprehensive treatment information, and to provide information and referrals pertaining to the access to care and treatment of HIV, to the broadest possible range of people living with HIV, their caregivers, and service providers.

Job responsibilities:

Lead, evaluate and support Hotline volunteers.
Produce regular Hotline Memo provided to hotline volunteers (and other PI volunteers and staff).
Ensure that the Hotline Volunteers have access to the most up-to-date resources and printed information to process calls efficiently and completely.
Coordinate the flow of information between the information department and the hotline.
Maintain contact with service providers throughout the United States to ensure that resource lists are kept up-to-date.

Desired Qualifications:

Previous experience working with a telephone hotline strongly preferred.
BA degree or equivalent experience.
Program development skills and experience strongly preferred.
Ability to train, coordinate, support and motivate volunteers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to coordinate, support and motivate volunteers.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy setting.
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS treatments and related opportunistic diseases.
Knowledge of women's health issues preferred.
Ability to work independently.
Computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access and web-based computing.
Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.
Ability to work knowledgeably, effectively and respectfully with a diverse range of individuals with respect to gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, economic circumstances, and HIV status.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
Strong interpersonal skills; pleasant and professional telephone manner and overall demeanor.
